Problems/Solutions
• Problem: It doesn't seem to work!
• Solution: Perhaps EZCalendar has been turned
off. Make sure the switch in the lower
left of the Control Panel window is in
the on position.
• Problem: It causes problems with a certain
application.
• Solution: From the preferences dialog you can
create a list of applications that cause
problems while using EZCalendar. You
can add the application to a list of
special applications (see Customizing
EZCalendar above).
• Problem: Some command keys no longer work
with a certain application.
• Solution: Make sure you have not set up
any "Hotkeys" using the same key(s)
used by an application.
• Problem: When I move or resize the window,
the application it was started from
does not update it’s windows!
• Solution: Since EZCalendar is not really an application,
but is code that loads at startup (as an
extension), it cannot act entirely like
an application (though it certainly
tries! :-). When you type a hotkey to
access EZCalendar, it temporarily takes over
the space the application resides in. It
won’t allow you to access the menus of
the application, but you can get to any
background applications by clicking on
their windows as you normally would.
As soon as you close the EZCalendar window,
you’ll gain full access to the application
once again.
• Problem: Conflict Catcher™ says something like
“Warning! This file is using more memory
in the System heap at Startup than it is
requesting. You may want to try disabling
this file if you are experiencing problems
with your system.”
• Solution: This is not a problem and the warning can
be ignored. When EZCalendar starts during
bootup, it does allocate more memory in
the system (so all of it’s code can be loaded
into memory only once). This is why it is
available instantly, unlike an application
that needs to load every time you launch it.
• Problem: When opening EZCalendar, I can no longer see
the EZCalendar window or I cannot see the menus
in the EZCalendar window.
• Solution: It’s possible that the EZCalendar Preferences
file has become corrupted. Just find the
file named “EZCalendar Preferences” in the
Preferences Folder (in the System Folder)
and drop it in the trash. Now restart, and
that should fix the problem!
